St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
For my second marathon, we decided to head down to Nashville for the Country Music Marathon. Being in Tennessee, I also decided to join the St. Jude Heroes Program to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital since it is just a skip across the state from Nashville.
I didn't have much better reason than the fact that I love kids and think that the work that St. Jude does for kids is absolutely amazing. If I could contribute anything to that, it sounded like a good situation.
Imagine my surprise when, after all was said and done, we had raised $1585.00! Thanks again to the 36 people who helped make this venture a great one!
And of course, thanks again to St. Jude for the wonderful things it does!

Country Music Marathon
Me, Post-Race at the Country Music Marathon 2008
This was a big breakthrough race for me.
My goal was to run under 3:10, but I dropped almost 15 minutes off instead and ran a 2:57:20.
I also finished 33rd out of a crowd of 4373, which to date remains my best finish in a larger marathon.
